Injustice of life
Okay. It's late at night and I am not supposed to blog at this time... however, I just can't help it but to vent my anger on this blog.. Life is just just just so unfair. People are so so so selfish and self-centered.. Why?! Seriously I just feel so sad for ourselves.. for US human beings.. shame on us. aaargghh
Two things that really make me want to scream.. it just hurts.. I seriously can't take it anymore and now I am going to confide how I have been feeling these days.. and I really hope that people could listen to me.. Deep inside, I just wish that people could just listen.. but honestly, they will never listen..
First, there is this selfish thing that I see in ourselves..
Today I had my first night study in school till 9 plus in the night.. Our school, TKSS, is so concerned for the Sec4s in preparation for O level that they actually opened the library till night for US to have a suitable place for revision. Not to think of the extra electricity bills that they have to pay, the teachers and Mr Leong are actually staying behind to look after their dearly Sec4s and I doubt they have extra pay for their sacrifices and their time spent on us could actually be used with their family. Parents support group actually donated money and prepared food and snacks for US every day at 530 sharp. And let me tell you, those food and snacks are not cheap, they are delicious and sufficient in preparation for ONLY US.
I was really touched by them. Go and ask other friends from other schools and I am very very sure that there are rarely any schools who are so concerned for their students and serve them like the kings and queens.
Sadly, these were what I witnessed today:
I saw students talking and chatting in the library but not studying.
I heard people making noise, being really inconsiderate for those who wanted to study.
I heard Mr Leong coming to the library telling us that the food was ready.
I saw students hurriedly go to collect their food. Well, those food are served for us, its right to take.
Until in the very late night when many people were leaving...
I saw unwanted papers lying around the library with chips of biscuits on the table!
I saw unarranged chairs that were scattered around and not being pushed in.
Outside the library...
I saw rubbish and tissues and plastics which contain leftover food scattered all around the table.. some probably on the floor..
Then I saw Mr Leong cleaning up the tables alone in the night..
and I saw students treating him as transparent and leaving the school just like that...
I arranged the chairs back to its normal positions... and some of my friends said that there was no need to because the servant would do it in the morning for OUR MESS.... nobody actually cleaned these mess up..
Honestly, are we too pampered? Or has it become an ordinary thing for people to serve us and think that it's their duty to serve us? Where is the salutation of goodbye and thankyou for those who take care of us?
Is there a NEED to be taught on how to be grateful?
Oh never mind. THIS is NATURE. THIS is US. The self-centered ones.
Secondly, it's regarding the issue of becoming a vegetarian.
I really urge people to become a vegetarian, if not probbably eat less meat. Reasons are to fight for human, environmental and animal rights. Though I became a vegetarian due to reasons mainly from religious purpose of not killing animals, but in fact, its not just because of this reason.
I am very sure that even subconsiously, people know that having a vegetarian diet is much healthier than being a meat eater. However, they still try to deny the fact and say that meat is much more nutritious somehow. Come on people, get the fact right! Meat contains mainly of high fat content. Modern farm animals are deliberately fatten up to increase profit and what YOU guys eating EVERY SINGLE DAY, with some eating to an extent as if meat has become your staple food, are the ones that cause heart attack and numerous diseases. Even food poisoning is mostly derived from eating meat.. And if you're so knowledgeable, you can always check out in the internet or library or whatever resources you can look for information regarding the numerous disease-causing factors. And if you were to argue that you're very healthy now though you're a meat eater, let me tell you, disease don't just occur the minute you eat meat, the adverse effect only appears in a long run.. and food poisoning is mainly due to bioaccumulation of the food chain... well, if you don't know all this stuff, there is always this thing called RESEARCH. And if you still have the concept that having a vegetarian diet is unhealthy or not nutritious enough or will make you grow pathetically thin then seriously, I wonder what's the use of the emphasis on the Food Pyramid that we have been learning ever since primary 1. Even kids from kindergarten know this concept! And why do many of the successful athletes became vegetarians? Answer is obvious.
Next, reason for becoming a vegetarian is to fight for animals rights. Just freaking do some simple research on how animals such as cows, chickens and pigs are raised and killed in the butcher or animal farms FOR YOUR SAKE and THINK of them while you enjoy your wonderful meat. Just spend a few minutes to read up how unnatural those animals are raised, injected with hormones and inserted with food to let them grow fast so that they can be sent to your dearly mouth with the exchange of your money.

I am sure many of you will enjoy your cooked meat after enjoying a visual entertainment show on how they are killed. I simply can't understand how you can still swallow the food in front of you. you know what, cows actually tear when they know that they are going to be killed for food. Animals DO CRY and scream for the pain that inflicted on them in the process of slaughtering. Come on, they have senses. And some people may just say that killing them in a certain way can reduce their pain, yeah. It may reduce their pain. But how the hell do you know??? Have you experienced such pain of being slaughtered?! NO.. you don't. So please don't make assumption.
Sadly, many people still enjoy meat so much and simply can't live without them. Honestly, will we really die without meat? One who is rational will know the answer is a No. Even Albert Esitein stated that having a vegetarian diet is the best diet that human can have. However, people admire, fancy and respect his achievement but just simply don't agree with this statement that he made.
Do you have a conscience? Just imagine you are those animals being killed.. but somehow, you always think that they deserve such pain for your sake to show how pristine and high up you are.
AND if you're not concerned for the lives of those animals, well maybe its because we are of different species. But now its concerning with BIG environmental and human issues!
I am sure that many of you know that if we eat the plants we grow instead of feeding them to animals, we would have much more food supply. I actually read up that 100 acres of land will produce enough beef for 20 people but enough wheat to feed 240 people. The world rainforests are deforested mainly for land use for cattle raising. For who's sake? You! Just to satisfy your greed, but not your hunger. And YOU KNOW WHAT? While you're enjoying your meat, millions are suffering from starvation, thousands of animals die and eventually become extinct, global warming worsens... these are basic and common issue and knowledge about today's world.. I am sure everyone should know about it.. In African countries where millions are starving to death yet they export tonnes of grain to the developed world so that animals can be fattened for your dining tables.
And very very SAD, nobody cares about any of these issues because we are all self-centered people who think of ourselves, thinking that such adverse effects will only take place in our next generations but not us OR our health will only be affected when we age and others' sufferings totally do not matter because we LOVE ourselves more than anything..
Yeah, that's we. That's what I see in people. IN US. Right?
Okay. Done with my ranting. Seriously gotto go.
It feels good to post how I feel.. arggh after watching the Discovery which showed a rabbit being killed in a particular restaurant.. it just makes me feel so infuriated and sad.. knowing that you can't do anything to save them. And it totally does nto make any difference in seeing how those chickens or pigs or cows are being slaughtered compared to the rabbits.. it's the SAME thing.. hais..
P.S so many people are leaving.. I just sent someone off last week and to think that in two months time Benny is leaving as well..... hais. People just have to part and go separate ways hur?
